II.History
The Department was established
in 2005, and there were two-year junior college program and four
year institute program. It emphasizes training in the basics of
restaurant service, operation, management, health management, and
food-related technologies, so as to meet the current and future
demands for competent food and beverage industry personnel and the
hospitality industry.
III.Instructional
Objectives
The programs of the Food and
Beverage Management Department are extending the students’abilities
with business administration, human resource, finance management,
operating and strategic planning. They offer students a deep-rooted
knowledge of academic training as well as hands-on experience including
hospitality-specific courses in addition to traditional business courses
taught from a service-oriented management perspective. The curriculum
features the following core areas: health nutrition, food and beverage
management, and operation management, and off-campus internship. Students
acquire the vocational skills and become independent with passion
in the food and beverage field.

Facilities
The Department is equipped with Chinese-style dining
room, a Western-style dining room, and a demonstration room for
Chinese and Western food. In 2006 academic year, we are going to
equip four brand-new facilities with a Chinese dessert and baking
room, a cocktail-mixing room, a tea room and multi-media room.
In addition to professional equipment, we provide students diverse
learning with computer labs, language labs, and other multi-purposed
classrooms.

Features of Curriculum
The programs focus on health
and nutrition, food and beverage, and operation management. food
and beverage: food preparation, Chinese and Western cuisines, food
service sanitation and safety, desert making, Japanese cuisine,
and wine tasting.
Health and nutrition: food nutrition, food analysis
and check, food nutrition and menu design, nutrition evaluation,
service and industry management: restaurant design, finance management,
human resource management, chain store management.
Off-campus internship programs are offered. Our
students can gain invaluable on-the-job experience in top restaurants,
hotels, clubs or cafeterias.

Career Prospects of Graduates
Further
Study
Junior college students may
study further in 2-year institutes. Four-year institute students
may pursue a higher degree at graduate schools.
Employment
Graduates may get into the food and beverage industries,
tourism, and related-fields.
